WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Long ago and far away, in the times of undergrad at RIT, my motives in life were to draw musicians for the rest of my life. I did this piece during that time. Not so long ago, I was flipping through my favorite magazine, Readymade, and found a contest that was made for me. The criteria was "inspired by music". I entered as soon as I found out, and told all of my friends about it immediately. Tonight I squealed when I found out I WON THE GRAND PRIZE!!!! I get my art hung at the Readymade show and I get VIP passes into the Readymade Rocks party.

For once, things are really lining up for old liz lemon.

OPENING SUCCESS!

Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday for my opening!!! It was a great success, and it was wonderful to see everyone as well!!! For those who have not seen it, the show will be up at Kicks Salon until April 16!

Day after an opening... I'm planning out my next piece. Ever onward and forward! This one will be bicycle-inspired, definitely. I just signed up to cycle the five boro bike tour, which happens Sunday, May 2. I'm pumped to start training, but my bicycle is going to need a major tune up before the snow melts!!! Come out and cheer me on!

Pie Wednesdays

My coworker Rob has started making food for us at the Glory every Wednesday. Today was a plum and raspberry pie. Have I mentioned that my job rules?

11 days until my show! I don't want to post any more images because I want them to be a surprise... so come to the opening! Sunday February 21 2-4 pm at Kicks Salon 277 Alexander Street (above the Old Toad), enter on the side near Gusto, and it's upstairs.

A few new scans...

A few Langhorne Slim pieces that never made it to the web. Speaking of musical inspiration, there's a contest going on with Readymade Magazine for art inspired by music. Check it out, my fellow artists!!!

working hard on the new show

Being poor, I decided to go the DIY route for this show, since it is coming up in less than a month! Therefore, my mailers are all individual linoleum block prints. Back to basics, eh? Well... I had some sweet inspiration this weekend.

I went to sweetmeat! It was a fabulous one night only art show, you should really check them out and their flickr account of the show. It has been a really really long time since a show made me think in new ways about things as much as this show did. I met some really great people, and I'm still buzzing about it, two days later. Thanks, Sweetmeat Co.
