I heard a crow caw

Things I've been up to lately: Very cool project for Adrian DiMatteo's senior recital/branding! Also, a very tight deadline, instead of my usual week turnaround, this project was done in FOUR DAYS! I'm patting myself on the back. Below, without type:
This one has the information for his senior recital!
Hey, I have a Seersucker Social ride coming up, and of course, I'm being obnoxious and making the posters for it! Check it out!
In the works: branding for the band Take Berlin. Loving this one.

take the dark out of the nighttime, and paint the daytime black.

I've had some adventures in printmaking recently. For the first time, during my last letterpress class, I took my carved linoleum to the presses. This was my first time printing with oil based ink as well. Before:
After: what great ink coverage! It just shines!
NOT PRINTED ON A PRESS, here's my ongoing project for Nomad Yoga. The blue was my first time using water-soluble oil ink, after my conversion from the above printing.
After: the print on the right is in the old cheap speedball acrylic ink, the print on the left is the new ink! The blue has some beautiful variation in tone.
I also printed another old poster on the press! I have a few weeks hiatus between classes to catch up on carving lino, thank god. Many, many projects in the works!

Darlin' I just wanna...

I'm drawing my cat as part of a collaborative CAT ART SHOW! That makes me an artist, not a cat lady for drawing this, right? This lino is about 50% done. My cat is the cutest thing everrrrrr!
I'm working on some really fun projects with Nomad Yoga! Here's the first one that we're doing! This project is such a joy to work on, going hand in hand with my feelings about my own yoga practice. Namaste :)
This was the final type-setting project I did in Letterpress 1! I'm printing my linoleum on a letterpress tomorrow, then I'm off to the world of Letterpress 2! Eeee!

But rest assured, it will be good, just like it should.

Hey all, it's been a very busy and zen week here, bit of a yoga overdose paired with oncoming deadlines! After scrapping the first idea, we've been running along with the "straight from the horse's mouth" concept for the back cover of my band's new album (yes, I am in a band. it's fun.) Below we have a portion of the color comp:
Which was drawn from the sketch:
And, a scratched concept.
